Maurizio Piovan
Maurizio Piovan was born in Venice, Italy. In 1978 he attended the Venice International Graphic School. His artistic career has continued to develop with selection for numerous competitions and his receipt of national and international awards.
Piovan is an introspective painter who is preoccupied with structural layering and the overlap of shape. He wants to create harmony and yet evoke emotional reaction in his abstract compositions. Still, the essence remains the colour. Colour is a fundamental component in Piovan’s painting. He perceives colour as a tangible element that is the fundamental definition of form. He uses shading and contrasting colour in combinations that create a coherent balanced work of art.
Piovan continues to live and paint in Italy. His paintings are now available as prints that are redefining fashion and making his artistic vision available to a worldwide audience.
