Mataya
Mataya is a “self-taught” fine artist referring to herself as a “natural artist” for that reason. At 17, she received a small set of acrylics and began teaching herself to paint. By age 22, she was selling her work and became an art instructor at a community college at 25.
Mataya enjoys teaching art from her home studio in Charlotte, N. C.
Devoted to the natural world, Mataya’s “realistic representations” of Nature & Wildlife stand out with sharp details and natural colors. Her beloved Blue Ridge Mountains in N. C. are her inspiration and a prominent focus in her collection.
Throughout her career Mataya has worked with Interior Designers, Exhibited in Galleries and Painted Live as a Featured Artist in Public Spaces & Events. She is now proud to be a published artist.
