Justin Thompson

Justin Thompson is a young California artist creating new contemporary designs, but always with an eye on the past. Both his father, and his grandfather, were architects who were influenced by the Bauhaus school and architects like Le Corbuiser, and Frank Lloyd Wright. Although Thompson did not follow their career path, the aesthetics of modernism inform most of his work. Justin Thompson is a painter, illustrator, and digital artist inspired by mid-century modern design. His compositions include simple bold geometric shapes, graphic layering, and unique combinations of muted organic colors paired with vibrant hues and hints of metallic texture. Thompson is gratified that his work can invoke a nostalgic response. But he is a new century artist who wants to push mid-century design forward in fresh and creative ways.
